HAD THE COOLEST DREAM Myself and 3-4 guys and 3-4 ladies were hanging out in a house outside New Orleans that looked like the house I grew up in Atlanta. The house was FULL of awesome swing/ jazz costumes from the 20s. Super fun/ funky hats, jackets, visors, plus all kinds of joints, cigars, cigarettes, bottles of liquor, wine, beer, and all kinds of fun indulgences. Several of the ppl from my place of werq at Hi-Life Oakland were there (specifically recalling Ian Brink, Jed Johnson, and Paloma). We would get dressed up in certain outfits, and then go outside. Someone would come up with a lil jazz rhythm, and we all had such dialed in / telepathic imaginations, that we could all imagine together in perfect synchronisity the beat, and 4-5 layers of piano, horns, percussion, and any other instruments. The environment would start changing around us in accordance with the mood of the music, and we would all go into a choreographed dance- clapping our hands, spinning around, cheering at certain points HEY!. When we were fully IN the moment of performance, there would be an actual full band of musicians playing what we were imagining. Once we had enough fun with one number, we would take a breather...enjoy some drinks, smokes, and whatever else we might like...then one person would make a costume choice that would inspire new costumes for the rest of us, and then someone would come up with a new lil jig...soon enough wed be back outside in slightly different jazzy outfits, going into full-on full-band dance numbers, dancing solo, dancing with partners, group dances, anything and/ or everything. I literally jumped out of bed singing one of our best tunes. All of the performances were SO distinct and SO much fun. Once I strolled out of my room, I started singing one to my roomsnake Freddys Todd and we started jestering around the living room making trumpet sounds...wondering where Sire Russell Scott is at! ***ASTRAL JAZZ IMAGINATION DANCE CLUB***
