An RNC official quoted by BuzzFeed explained that the group dressed as runners, each wearing signs with the name of a prominent Democrat candidate, to portray their attempt to run away from Obama’s negative influence. “We dressed as vulnerable Democrats running from President Obama,” the source explained. “It’s been comical how much these 2014 Democrats have tried to run from the president and his failed policies.” Advertisement-content continues below The operative noted that, if he were in their shoes, he would be “running scared, too.” In addition to the humor aspect, the GOP employees were making a fairly obvious political statement. “Four days from Election Day,” the participant noted, “we wanted to make sure even our Halloween costumes were on message.” Images of the effort sparked significant support among Obama critics on Twitter.
