HAMBA. In English, it can be literally translated as a slave. Slavery is always being associated with injustice. You can imagine how people were held against their will and deprived of their freedom; to speak, to own, to choose, to live. In the past, some were so ruthless that they even traded humans to be slaves in a crammed ship of a painful voyage from one continent to another. If you were a slave, you were expected to serve your master, and sometimes left clueless of what the master wanted. But that is not the case when you are serving the One and Only Master. HAMBA ALLAH. For disbelievers, this may sound harshly unjust. Muslims are called slaves? Thank that I am not one of them. However Allah never stops us to do what we want. TIADA PAKSAAN DALAM ISLAM. We can do what we want, what our heart desires. Only if we want to be rewarded and granted Jannah, we need to please Him and do what pleases Him. Only us humans are capable of doing it, because of the free will that He gives us. Other creations; the moon, the sun, the angels, the planets, the oxygen we breathe, the laptop we use, the chair we sit on, the clothes we wear, my cat Mike, creations that we see or that we dont, are constantly doing tasbih and worshipping Him. ...and I say, shame on us! Unlike the normal slaves, Allah even tells us what to do to please Him. He provides us with the most comprehensive manual that is bestowed upon us to recite, understand, apply and teach to others. O you who have believed, eat from the good things which We have provided for you and be grateful to Allah if it is [indeed] Him that you worship. 2:172 O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous 2:183 And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands fathers, their sons, their husbands sons, their brothers, their brothers sons, their sisters sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed. 24:31 ...and in many, many, many other verses in the Quran, Allah tells us what to do. It is definitely the greatest manual ever created. Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Now is probably the best time for us to change. Lets return to Allah and repent, before Izrail comes to visit and take us back to where we belong. Ya Allah, may the shahadah be the last words we utter before we die. AMIN YA RABBAL ALAMIN.
