HAMGAM- Social Media for Civic Engagement Conference The increase in the use of social media in Afghanistan presents new opportunities for coordination, communication, outreach, advocacy, and civic mobilization for Afghan civil society. To help build CSOs and individual civic activists capacity in effective, systematic and regular use of social media, Counterpart is organizing a two-day national conference on the role of social media in strengthening civil society and promoting civic activism in Afghanistan. The objective of the Conference is to bring together civil society activists: 1) To learn new skills on how to use social media and other digital tools to amplify their impact 2) To learn how to use social media for civic engagement and advocacy efforts 3) To increase the number of effective social media or social change users in Afghanistan 4) To network with their counterparts and peers in expanding essential technological space. The conference, scheduled on 28-29 September, will include panel discussions, presentations, workshops and learning sessions, providing a collaborative learning and networking opportunity for the participants.
