HANDS-ON TRAINING PROGRAMMES (AUGUST– SEPTEMBER, 2014) With the growing need for laboratory trained professionals in the Biotech industry and research institutions, it has become necessary to have personnel with reliable technical expertise to handle equipments and conduct experiments. Short term hands-on training programme is designed to empower the fresh biotechnology graduates interested in taking up research/industry related jobs. The course consists of intensive workflow models for teaching Microbiology, DNA isolation, Genomics, rDNA techniques, Post PCR analysis and Bioinformatics are offered. • BIOLOGICAL TECHNIQUES (1 WEEK) • APPLIED MICROBIOLOGY (1 WEEK) • DNA BARCODING (1 WEEK) • FUNDAMENTAL BIOINFORMATICS (1 WEEK) • MOLECULAR BIOLOGY & BIOINFORMATICS (1 WEEK) • GENETIC ENGINEERING (2 WEEKS) • IMMUNOTECHNOLOGY (2 WEEKS) • QUALITY CONTROL TECHNIQUES (2 WEEKS) • PLANT BIOTECHNOLOGY (1 MONTH) • INDUSTRIAL AND ENZYME BIOTECHNOLOGY (1 MONTH) • MOLECULAR BIOLOGY AND GENETICS (1 MONTH) Eligibility: BSc / MSc/ BTech / MTech (any Life-science stream). All programmes include lectures followed by demonstrations and hands on practice sessions where the participants will have an opportunity to interact and learn.
