HANMADANG REGISTRATION DEADLINE EXTENDED UNTIL SUNDAY, JUNE 16th!!! We have received numerous phone calls and emails regarding the Black Forest Fires in the Colorado Springs area. We want to thank everyone for their thoughts and concerns. Unfortunately, this fire has resulted in the loss of almost 400 homes and displaced tens of thousands of residents, including many members of the Organizing Committee. First and foremost, our thoughts are with the families affected by this devastating fire. Second, we want to thank the state and government officials for their bravery, strength, and courage. Through their efforts they are gaining control and containment and continue to lift evacuations for the region. THE U.S. OPEN TAEKWONDO HANAMADANG WILL TAKE PLACE AS SCHEDULED ON FRIDAY JUNE 21ST AND 22ND. THE BLACK FOREST FIRE DOES NOT POSE ANY THREAT TO THE WORLD ARENA OR CROWNE PLAZA (ELEGANTE) HOTEL. ALL PARTICIPANTS, FAMILIES, AND GUESTS WILL NOT BE IN DANGER. Due to this disaster the Organizing Committee is EXTENDING the participant registration until SUNDAY June 16 at 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time (California) to allow the thousands of residents who have been displaced from their homes the time to finalize their registrations. After this deadline, ABSOLUTELY NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. We encourage all participants to take one additional look at his or her registration to ensure the accuracy of the events. Please keep in mind that any changes or additions can be made through the deadline of SUNDAY June 16 at 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time (California). We are also focusing on relief efforts for the victims of the Black Forest Fires. Monetary donations or non-perishable items or can be made at the World Arena Thursday June 20 through Saturday June 22, 2013.
