“HAPPINESS IS TRACEABLE TO CONTENTMENT” Memory Verse: “But godliness with contentment is great gain” 1 Timothy 6:6. Who is the happiest man on earth? I guess this story provides the right answer. Sometimes ago, there was a king who had more money than he knew what to do with it. He owned several castles, and he ruled his land with an iron fist. But no matter how much he had, he never showed to have enough and was a very miserable man. ‘I want you to go out and search the land, from one horizon to the other and find the happiest man on earth, and bring me his shirt. Once I have the shirt of the happiest man, I will be able to be happy myself. I do not want you to return without that shirt or you will be-headed’. The servant set out about this mission with zeal. Finally, after many months of searching, the servant returned, on hands and knees, crawling before the king. The king noticed the servant’s hands were empty and was very angry. With tears in his eyes, the servant looked to the king and said; ‘Master, I did as you said, I searched and searched and I finally found him, but the happiest man on earth did not own a shirt’ what an irony! Are you surprised that the happiest man on earth did not own a shirt? The truth of the matter is that; those who will be the happiest are those to whom gold and treasures of this earth mean nothing to be greedy is to be miserable. A circle cannot fill a triangle, neither can the whole world, if it were to be compressed, fill the heart of a greedy man. Whatever you think you have or whatever you think you are as at today, there is always someone, somewhere who perhaps is better than you. Someone’s else’s car, house, shoe etc is better than yours. If you are not contented with what you have per time, there will always be reasons to make comparison. The more you make comparison, the more sad and miserable you will become. There is nothing anyone has or has achieved that you cannot have or achieve. I am not advocating for complacency but at the same time, I am telling you that contentment is the mother of all happiness. Thank God for your present level. Rejoice for what you do not have, while you wait for your season to come. Your day is blessed. Your frustrations are over; unsolicited help will locate you in Jesus name. Be blessed!
