HAPPY 68th BIRTHDAY, DAVID BOWIE! Below are a few of my personal Bowie faves. I hope youll check en out. STATION TO STATION is the title cut of Bowies 1976 LP. The album hit #5 in Britain & #3 here- and went gold in both places. The song was written & recorded in the fall of 1975. It was recorded at Cherokee Studios in LA - but Bowie himself was so coked out that he remembers almost nothing about recording the record, not even which studio, later admitting, I know it was in LA because Ive read it was. The grinding guitars were played by Carlos Alomar & Earl Slick, who also said that they recall almost nothing from the sessions because of the mountains of coke they tooted.
