HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, SANDY! Congratulations on being our second costliest hurricane. I vote we celebrate by recognizing our government representatives who actively voted against providing federal aid to the victims of Hurricane Sandy in the way federal aid has always been routinely granted to disaster areas, . . . especially those like Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) who recently had the gall to come into the Sandy damage area to ask for political contributions to their own political campaigns in other states. IMO, we shouldnt grant federal assistance to areas whose elected representatives vote against legitimate aid to others, especially hypocrites who immediately request federal aid for disasters in their own areas. The people who voted them into office expressed their opposition to helping others and they should learn to live by their convictions.
