HAPPY BIRTHDAY VICKI November 13 Today I celebrate. He who finds a wife finds a GOOD thing. Grace is the term given for unmerited favor. I am much more awake, though perhaps not completely, than ever, and understand the term very well. If I got what I have earned for my own sin from God....(shudder). But also astonishing is the grace that this woman has demonstrated. If she had divorced me or bought me some cement shoes, I would understand, but she seems incapable of anything but love and grace. She has soundly refused to be affected by the modern trend of brassiness in women, and has refused to destroy me with all the legal power available to a disgruntled wife. It took me so much longer than it should have to realize that I had been given this treasure. She is sweet and kind, unless you mess with someone she loves. She is truly my soulmate, and might be a suitable template for the internal structure of a woman in this confused generation. I definitely married above my class, and that has nothing whatever to do with caste or race. Today, my dearest, I rise up and call you blessed, and may I ever live to love and cherish and honor you for the rest of my days.
