HAPPY HOMING Hi K9 Team, My husband and I adopted the most - TopicsExpress

HAPPY HOMING Hi K9 Team, My husband and I adopted the most beautiful dog from K9 Friends 28 Feb 2013 and we wanted to give u an update. Jackie, you were so right when you said to me on the phone that day that he, Max (aka Cisco), has the best temperament. Everyone who meets him is amazed at how calm, sub-missive he is and he is a total joy. It was believed that Max was an American Pitbull but I had him DNA tested and it turns out he is a cross. On mothers side American Staffordshire Terrier and on dads side half Bullmastif and half Golden Retriever! I have attached some pics for u all and as u will see Max lives a wonderful life now. As u will see Max has friends and is so gentle with every living thing he comes in contact with. He gets cold and loves to be covered with a blanket. He is a water baby and swims until he is totally exhausted or told to come back in! During summer heat he gets a little workout on the treadmill and gets on at his own free will (see you tube video Max on the mill)! He loves the kids and they love him back. Max watches tele watching other animals on the screen. He has impeccable manners when he eats as so gentle eating off a fork and eats delicately and has never growled when anyone touches him when hes eating. Max loves to dig (unfortunately that also goes for any unpaved sand at home). Max knows so many commands now and I am convinced he understands the entire English language! Ok, maybe not but he is incredible the way he learns almost immediately. He has such a routine and I am sure he gets more exercise, discipline and love in a day than most dogs. We cannot imagine what life would be like without our boy now and I am so glad I decided to call that day. Unfortunately everyone we meet is terrified of him yet he has been attacked by what most consider non aggressive breeds and bitten many times and all he does is come and hide behind me for protection. When he sees the dogs that have bitten him he gets so scarred and will not go near them and turns to face the other way. How can we educate people about there being no dangerous breed just very dangerous owners? I hope u guys enjoy our story because I realise that ur job must be tough, sad, frustrating but sometimes also joyful. Thank u all for doing what u do for these poor abandoned dogs out of the goodness of ur hearts. Thank u for screening ur potential new adoption families. The problem starts with animals being too easy to buy from a pet store window (disgrace and should be illegal) and then easily dumped when dogs out grow their cuteness, poop and pee and get bored because no one exercises them and then become destructive! Its a huge problem I know so thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving these guys a second chance to find love and care with another family. Thank u Pia and Matt.
