*** HAPPY LITTLE DESI NEEDS YOUR HELP TONIGHT *** A volunteer writes: Once upon a time, a cute little puppy left the pet store with her new family. She was adorable in her brindle coat and white slippers and so excited to be going home that she wore an ear-to-ear grin almost too big for her sweet wee face. The years passed and she grew up alongside a human sibling, energetic and playful, loving and full of fun. There were always playdates with her doggie neighbor to enjoy and plenty of kibble in her bowl. Then one day a dark cloud appeared in the blue sky of this carefree life - the Landlord wanted Desie out. And just like that the only family shed ever known was gone and seven years of love and loyalty were as nothing. Enough to make anyone fall into sadness and depression, right? Well, Desie isnt just anyone! The spirit of that happy pet store puppy is still alive and well in this pretty senior girl - she leaps, she jogs, she eagerly (but gently) snarfles up her roast beef and until I bring out a tennis ball shes in constant motion; circling the pen, hopping onto the bench or getting up on her hind legs to peer over the fence. Though Desie does understand the command for sit, patience is not one of her virtues and apparently she was never taught that most people prefer not to be jumped on when theyre offering a gift! For this reason were recommending that, friendly as Desie is, she should not go to a home with young children and her new parents will need to devote some time and effort to refining her puppy manners and providing her with all the exercise and play time she craves. Desie is a big fan of belly rubs, snuggles and the game of fetch and shes never more content than when were both lounging on the bench with her softly chomping away on a tennis ball and me slowly rubbing her side. Seven years Desie gave to the people she thought were her forever family, half a lifetime of being the best pet she knew how to be. Shes more than earned a second chance at the rest of her life yet Desie is still at our Manhattan Care Center, waiting for her hero...will you be the one to offer a puppy-like Princess the happily ever after she deserves? Help save Desi before noon tomorrow. https://facebook/Urgentdeathrowdogs/photos/a.611290788883804.1073741851.152876678058553/857291724283708/?type=3&theater TO BE DESTROYED 8/22/14
