HAPPY YOUTH DAY TO ALL YOUTHS THOUGH! It is so sad to note that on a day like this one,youths are so valued in that different stakeholders come on board and share how they engage young people in their corporate activities. Since time in memorial every succeeding government of Zambia boldly and plainly outlines their will to engage and importance of a youth in social,economical change. Does this really happen?maybe Unemployment levels amongst young people is not a challenge to shun away from, as such the government has put measures to empower young through provision of loans so as to create an enabling environment for them to start their enterprises and hence create indirect employment. How many youths have been empowered with such loans on merit grounds?are the loans meant to empower patriotic youths or political cadres? Apart from a day like this one youths are also valued during an election. In this regard during elections young people are used as conduits violence. So many promises are made,with regard to equal youth participation in issues of good governance. My point is youths should not only be valued as assets in speeches and paper on days like youth day.
