HARVEST TIME M. Andrew Matthew 9:35-38 “And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were faint and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then said He unto His disciples, ‘The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few. Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth laborers into His harvest.’” (KJ21) We have seasons and times to gather and harvest. We reap what we sow, or in other words, we get what we worked for! Whether we gather subsistence or commercial. Whether we slaughter in the wild or in a farm; it is the same concept. We gather or harvest food! We sell, barter, or store our harvest! We plant, take care of, and harvest in due time. We search, find, and pick berries in the wild or purchase in grocery stores. It is the same concept, but differing in ways. One concept is not better than the other as they achieve the same outcome; feed the hungry, create economy, and stay healthy and strong. Now this is Biblical in the same conception God created as He built this world. God works as He created. God does not change; he is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Jesus knew what he was saying when he said, “The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few.” We are commanded to pray to the Lord of the harvest that He will send laborers to the harvest. Yes we pray. The work of the evangelist is not easy. Jesus gave 5 seats, 9 spiritual gifts, with 9 spiritual fruits to empower those called and submit to His calling. Let’s keep praying for apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. Let’s ask the Father for His promise, the Holy Spirit to give us gifts to empower to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Holy Spirit gifts to help those willing vessels to complete the task of evangelism. These gifts are specifically listed as; Word of wisdom, word of knowledge, extraordinary faith, supernatural healing, working in miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, various kinds of tongues, and interpretation of tongues. Some have erased or do not believe in these specific Spiritual gifts, but have claimed they employed for a time and season and are not available today. Blasphemy! Anyone changing, altering, and deleting any part of God’s Word is in opposition with God! We only know of one power who gives this kind of resistance; Satan! Now then. In today’s harvest ways, we have the same concept of gathering, planting, sowing, and harvesting. We have extremely advanced ways though! Powered boats, vehicles, and specialized equipment. Advanced technology to achieve increased outcome of growing plants and fruits, ocean sea fish and shellfish, and land livestock that is far superior to the past. We were given knowledge by God to market these gatherings expediently to other parts of the nation and world and to keep them preserved till they get to the dinner table. We were given wisdom to preserve the fruits of harvest a long time until they are opened and used. Canning, preservatives, vacuum packaged, and efficient drying and storing. These are not new, but in time God allowed man’s intelligence to increase! This is just one of the signs God gave to mark the end times. What a loving, caring, and merciful God! Giving us clear signs and signals to remind us of when He is going to give up this world to the adversary for just a time and season, but will return to claim it as Lord of lords and King of kings. Just as the increase in knowledge and intelligence; so is the empowerment of believers and willing vessels to become laborers of the final harvest! God is not dead! God is smart! God is alive! God is smart! God is powerful! God is intelligent! God is merciful! God is love! Just as human beings ways of harvesting has increased and become more efficient; so has God allowed His laborers to achieve His work with increased power and authority! Let’s compare to one type of harvest we know of; fishing. When it started, commercial fishing was achieved by wind power, human power, and salt preservation. They were subject to the tides and the wind. If there was not wind, there was human power with oars. Slow and tedious. If the winds were against the tides, or vice versa, the work increased. If the winds were too powerful, the journey becomes dangerous or impossible. If there was no wind, well, you get the conditions that were needed to harvest fish. Today we have powerboats, efficient ways to set the net and retrieve it. We can buck the tide and even challenge the winds a lot more safely to get from point A to point B. We deliver our harvest in a set amount of time to keep it fresh. We have advanced technology to preserve fish flash freezing and canning them in huge pressurized canners! Then we have the means to deliver the harvest to the user in record time, even to those nations far away. God gave us intelligence and knowledge to achieve all this. God gave His willing vessels the similar advanced and intelligent ways and means to harvest souls! Only by the power and authority of Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit! No other way! Unfortunately, this coveted commercial fishing lifestyle is being taken over by outsiders and less of those who actually live in the region. Likewise, the plan to harvest souls is wickedly being taken over by Satan and his demons with false doctrine, teaching, and christ’s. Some vessels are directly chosen by Jesus Christ. Just like Saul the persecutor who became Paul the Gentiles apostle. Therefore, I cannot refuse some people’s claims that Jesus told them to say something or do something. Their claims must be in line and in step with God’s Word to be believable! Some base their belief on men or what man said. They place their trust in traditions created on this planet earth and not by God Almighty. Only a few are willing to be subject of persecution and ridicule by placing their faith and trust on God’s Word; God’s infallible Word! Oh my God! No wonder the laborers are few and the harvest is still plentiful! We create nonessentials as essentials and essentials as nonessentials! We create division instead of unity. We translate love with achievement or held together with conditions! Nakleng! Lord, have mercy. Forgive my religious mind and religious belief. The Lord of harvest will give those willing vessels the needed fruits, gifts, and power to achieve His harvest! It is the Lord’s harvest, not men. The Lord of harvest will give the crystal clear seats and offices of an apostle, a prophet, an EVANGELIST, a pastor, and teacher. The Lord of harvest will give willing vessels Spiritual fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. And the Lord of harvest will give Spiritual gifts as listed above. They have not changed! Are you willing to become one of the Lord’s harvesters? There are many ways, but a few are willing to travel near and abroad even if they are attacked, persecuted, and belittled. It takes the willingness to accept Holy Spirit to receive an office (or assistant), fruits, and gifts (or supporter) to receive them. It may not require a written letter or document from authorized pastors or religious organizations. It may not require a diploma, degree, or certificate from recognized institutions. And it may not require authorization and acceptance by them as well. Those who recognize with the gift of discerning of spirit will allow their spiritual gifts to help, support, and work with those willing laborers chosen by the Lord of the harvest!
