The Changing Course program is an ongoing community conversation on building local sustainability as we confront global crises.Three dynamics of sustainability: Economy, Ecology, and Equity. Join for a discussion on solar energy technology and the viability of installing solar panels. HERE COMES THE SUN! Countries all over the world are leading the world towards a green economy. Unfortunately lobbying by the oil, gas, coal and nuclear industries are hindering progress. Very soon, perhaps even now, depending on the changing costs of electricity in our area, solar technology will be more economically cost effective than traditional forms of electrical production. What are the costs and benefits of installing solar on your home or in your neighborhood? Learn from neighbors who have installed renewable energy systems on their property and the companies who have installed them. We will also view a short documentary on the success of solar in Germany. What remaining challenges keep us from harnessing the sun and the wind to create a sustainable future for our communities?
