HCJK continues election boycott campaign, distributes posters in Islamabad, Srinagar Expresses concern over turning whole Valley into military garrison ahead of Modi’s visit Srinagar, Dec 5: On the directions of incarcerated Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir leader Shabir Ahmad Shah, the leaders and activists of the amalgam continued the election boycott campaign in areas of Islamabad and Srinagar and distributed anti-election posters and pamphlets there.On the occasion, the leaders urged people to stay away from elections and show commitment to the freedom movement. They said though these elections are not connected with the Kashmir issue, but the Indian rulers and its saffron media are trying to change the disputed status of Kashmir through these elections. They said that by exploiting the elections, the Indian media and rulers want to give an impression that the people of Kashmir by participating in poll process made it clear that they accept the Indian rule. “The former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also did the same after Panchayat elections and tried the mislead the world community.”The spokesperson of HCJK criticized the so-called administration over turning the whole Valley into a military garrison and its continuous arrest of youth, ahead of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said those who are talking about repealing the AFSPA could not do so during their tenure. “Now, shedding crocodile tears will not help them in any way to gain sympathies of people.” He said those begging for votes, after putting whole resistance leadership behind bars, staged a show of elections and started a war on the youth of Valley. “We should not votes these paid agents of India and should not forget the sacrifices of our beloved martyrs,the spokesperson added.
