HCS 320 Week 5 Preparing Organizations for Strategic Change Preparing an Organization for Strategic Change Long-Term Care Electronic Medical Records New Hires Team C has decided to implement certain changes that will effect every aspect of our organization. We can become better communicators by grabbing hold of new technology and expanding the company’s services through effective health care practices. Our organization will add a new electronic medical records system to our long-term care facility, we are also planning to train all new hires and current employees on the new system. Long-term care facilities will benefit from many different aspects of the electronic medical records. They will not have to carry charts for every patient they care for, even the patients who have a long medical history. A medical chart database will help the doctor focus on the individual instead trying to find their medical past. Long-Term Care health care providers that implement electronic medical records will reduce errors, improve safety, and decrease costs. Electronic medical records will increase communication, productivity, cost effectiveness, and impact quality improvement related to documentation. Reimbursement, care planning and care delivery processes are also some major reasons for adding a new record system. Implementing electronic medical records in long-term care facility will help increase the quality of care for our residents. A long-term care facility will provide the doctors and nurses a chance to provide efficient medical care at lower costs for the facility. New hires should be properly be trained on the electronic medical records because it is dealing with people’s confidential information. It is easy for someone to misuse and break the privacy act law pertaining to individual confidentiality. It is important that our company’s new hires are properly trained on the electronic medical records process. Our method of training new employees is much easier compared to other facilities because following HIPAA regulations are already part of the facility’s workflow and culture. Throughout the process of learning and developing new skills, we will work together as a team. All departments will work as one because the ultimate goal is to represent our organization with pride. We will show competitors and the local community pride through our work ethic and our excellent health care services. 18 slides $11.00 – Purchase Checkout Added to cart
