HE TOOK MY SINS ONCE FOR ALL. Clemence Machadu , Zimbabwe Do you know that Jesus took all my sins, when I believed in the gospel of water and blood? By ‘all,’ I mean the sins that I was born with, the sins I have committed from birth until now, and the sins I shall commit right up to the day I shall die! You can never be free from sin until all your sins have been atoned for. Many people today believe that Jesus only took and died for their original sins. To those who believe in this way, the same Jesus is telling them that: “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God” (Matthew 22:29). My question to them is: If the original sins which were committed by mankind required Jesus to come to the earth and die for them (as they believe), what gives you the impression that the sins you are now committing can be just confessed away without Him having to also come and take them and die for them? Have we now become special human beings who don’t need Jesus at all to resolve the problem of sin? What was so special about the original sins that warranted Jesus to come and take them and then die for them on the Cross? These questions prove that Jesus did not only take the original sins but the past, present and future sins too. It becomes clear that Jesus doesn’t have to come each and every time we commit sin, and die countless times too. Thus He took all my sins and died for all of them. We read in Romans 5:18 that, “Through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.” That He took our sins and blotted them once and for all is very evident in the Bible. Jude, a bondservant of Christ, had this to say, “Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.” Our salvation doesn’t come incrementally but it was delivered once for all. Romans 6:10 tells us that, “For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all.” In Hebrew 7:27, we also read that, “For this He did once for all when He offered up Himself.” The same book also says, “By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all” (Hebrews 10:10). We have not become better human beings compared to those who committed the original sins, we are still as weak as them. Because people have too much pride to accept the true meaning of Jesus’ baptism, only those who embrace this truth are being freed from all their sins, with their names automatically written in the Book of Life. There was a time when Jesus asked the chief priests and elders of the people this question: “The baptism of John – where was it from? From heaven or from men?” (Matthew 21:25) Although they knew the correct answer, that it was from Heaven, they chose to say, “We do not know” (Matthew 21:27), only to nurse their pride and egos. But Jesus explained to them and said, “For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him; but tax collectors and harlots believed him, and when you saw it , you did not afterward relent and believe him” (Matthew 21:32). Because of this pride and arrogance, many Christians and religious people today are also ignorant of the real reason why Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. Was He going to free us by just dying on the Cross without first being laid hands on by John the Baptist in the Jordan River? Why did Jesus say this about John the Baptist: “among those born of women there has not risen one greater than he” (Matthew 11:11)? Why is he said to be greater than Moses, greater than Elijah, greater than Isaiah, greater than Enoch, greater than Abraham, greater than Aaron, and greater than King David? The answer to that question gives a very important insight about the baptism of Jesus as an essential and inevitable requirement of complete redemption. Jesus has taken all your sins and all you need to do is believe that He was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist to take away your sins and was crucified on the Cross to receive judgment and remission of those sins. This is the secret of salvation that many people are failing to understand. Jesus once asked the sons of Zebedee: “Are you able to… be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?,” to which they replied, “We are able” (Mark 10:38). Jesus confirmed their response by saying, “With the baptism I am baptized with you will be baptized” (Mark 10:39). That ‘we are able’ means that Jesus’ baptism took all the sins of you who was destined to hell, and fulfilled all righteousness. Thus we read in John 1:29, “Behold! The Lamp of God who takes away the sin of the world.” We are now entering into the era of tribulation and let us not waste any more time. Those who haven’t yet believed in the gospel of water and Spirit should do so early. “Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near” (Isaiah 55:6). Those who have already been saved by it should expedite the works of taking it to the ends of the world. We have His assurance that “this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14). Whereas some find the opportunity, means and motive to commit crime, we find the same to commit our souls to God. “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen” (Revelations 21:21). Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:18-20). In accordance to this Great Commission of our Lord, the coworkers of The New Life Mission throughout the whole world are working tirelessly to spread the gospel of the water and the Spirit in each of their countries. As new coworkers of The New Life Mission will continue to arise in the future, and the gospel of the water and the Spirit will indeed be preached to the ends of the earth.
