HEALING HURT HEARTS SERIES PART 22 Prepared by Pastor Charles Chanda; Pretoria, South Africa. SHE WAS HURT AS SHE COULD NOT FULLY UNDERSTAND THE DEMANDS OF THE GOD OF HER HUSBAND! Exo 4:24-26 And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill him. 25. Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me. 26. So he let him go: then she said, A bloody husband thou art, because of the circumcision. Zipporah had not been fully explained of the Lord’s law concerning circumcision and at this time it became a hot issue which led to separation. The woman was hurt and even went to as far as uttering out hurtful words against Moses. What a lesson to all believers wanting to get married to people who are not Christians. There are some things that a partner who is a sinner will never understand and could became a born of contention in the home. How are you going to explain the issue of tithing to her or him. You may force your way and take it to the Lord but your partner may think you are lying and giving someone else. This may cause your marriage to break and you will be telling us that it is persecution from the devil. It is not persecution but your foolishness and disobedience to the word of God. You disregarded the teachings of scripture and went your own way because of lust in the heart and now you are saying the devil does not want you to serve God. Pray that God will be merciful to you as you have brought this upon yourself. There are even some who have already separated because according to them the devil was just against their service to the Lord. Friend go and reconcile with your wife before it is too late. THE FAILURE OF MOSES! Exo 4:26 So he let him go: then she said, A bloody husband thou art, because of the circumcision. The whole world is thankful to the great ministry of Moses except the wife who was left hurt for a long time and even when she was later taken to join him, not much is written about her. How many great minister are so much adored by their congregations whilst their wives and children are in pain at home. Think of those who have even divorced their partners and flowing and enjoying a new marriage! It will not pay you to please thousands or millions if you like and crush one person in your own home. God places high premium on the family. Did you know that family comes before church? Your effectiveness and success as a minister will not be measured on you public ministry but home ministry. We are not going to down grade this because of the waywardness of our children but embrace it and see where we went wrong in the discharge of domestic life. If your prayers can change thousands of your followers, I believe the same prayers can change those few souls at home. Let us be humble enough to acknowledge our failures and not entertain excuses and justify why it is not our fault as this will not help the future generations. This is what Moses did and eventually allowed divorce which has ripped up the church and the world. Let us contend for the faith once delivered to the saints. Mat 19:8-9 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? 8. He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. Jde 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. Pastors and overseers revisit what helped you raise the church to what it is today. The changes in your life and the world must not affect your earlier convictions. Failure in any part of your life does not mean you must what you have taught before. Remember that there are souls who could have gone to heaven or hell as the case may be because of what you stood on. If you change angels will condemn you. May the Lord help you and me keep our convictions in Jesus Name. A BUSY LIFE IS NOT A BLESSED LIFE! When Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses father in law, heard of all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, andthat the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt; 2. Then Jethro, Moses father in law, took Zipporah, Moses wife, after he had sent her back, 5. And Jethro, Moses father in law, came with his sons and his wife unto Moses into the wilderness, where he encamped at the mount of God: 6. And he said unto Moses, I thy father in law Jethro am come unto thee, and thy wife, and her two sons with her. 7. And Moses went out to meet his father in law, and did obeisance, and kissed him; and they asked each other of theirwelfare; and they came into the tent. 8. And Moses told his father in law all that the LORD had done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israels sake, and all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how the LORD delivered them. Exo 18:14-15, 17 And when Moses father in law saw all that he did to the people, he said, What is this thing that thou doest to the people? why sittest thou thyself alone, and all the people stand by thee from morning unto even? 15. And Moses said unto his father in law, Because the people come unto me to enquire of God: 17. And Moses father in law said unto him, The thing that thou doest is not good. Do not be so busy to an extent that you forget the family. Can you imagine that Zipporah was just brought by the father and Moses could not even create time for her. He was busy with the work of God. He forgot that it is not good for a man to be alone. Ministers of the gospel you need time with your families and spouses. Some of us are too spiritual and when we are with our spouses, it is always “thus saith the Lord “. We want to read bible every time and lead long prayers. This is why our wives do not want to pray with us because. We have even forgotten that we need to play with our wives. Some of you take your sanctification too far. Look at some great men of God whose holiness and walk with God cannot be compared to you! Gen 26:8 And it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window, and saw, and, behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah his wife. Let us change and we will enjoy our lives and ministry. Stop this thing of preaching long messages during devotion till the home church is asleep and then you are telling them that they are not serious with the things of God. Change Mr Preacher man and your congregation will look forward to that time. . May the Lord help you and me in Jesus Name.
