HEALTH QUESTION (but kinda long to the point) My daughter came home from school with a cough and headache a few days ago. We ended up having to go to the Dr yesterday due to it getting substantially worse. She had chest congestion, stuffy nose, headache, and the occasional light fever. Dr said it looked viral and put her on a coarse of antibiotics to keep it from becoming an infection. My daughter is a very integral part of the pet care. She helps with food and water, she helps with cage cleaning, she plays a HUGE role in play time, and she even attempts training. So she handles my ratties on a daily basis. Now time for the point: I came home from work this morning to ALL of my rats sneezing, not just sonic. And sonic, scabs and krispy have very obvious congestion. I have started them all on antibiotics this morning, but could this have possibly been something they caught from my daughter? Or is this some air born something they caught from breezy (newest baby my friend gave me this last weekend and still in quarantine cage)? Or is it just coincidence that theyre all sick at once? should I hold off on letting her help until she gets better? If I get sick, should I limit my contact with my ratty babies?
