HEART ATTACK FOR ME IF MDC WINS HARARE : MUGABE President Mugabe - TopicsExpress

HEART ATTACK FOR ME IF MDC WINS HARARE : MUGABE President Mugabe says he will probably suffer a heart attack if Harare votes for Tsvangirai and MDC. “Harare, Bulawayo, have you put behind you the 2008 mistake? I will suffer a heart attack if the people of Harare vote the MDC-T again, which has councillors who have terrorised residents by poor service delivery, corruption and unfairly repossessing residential stands of those who fail to pay rates. If your stand has been taken away, come back to the party that has your wishes and dreams at heart,” he said while addressing his supporters at the giant National Stadium. Mugabe also explained why he was hanging on, despite his advanced age. He said: “What has made me continue is the realisation that there is still a lot to teach the young generation about being masters of our own destiny.” President Mugabe also repeated his warning that Tsvangirai will be arrested if he announces election results. “What kind of madness is that? I have never heard such a statement coming from a Prime Minister, even in the whole of Africa. Who gave you that right Mr Tsvangirai when we have an electoral body that is mandated to do that? I can warn you in advance that if you break the law, you will be arrested. He who breaks the law will be arrested. We will arrest you Tsvangirai,” said President Mugabe. The President also expressed concern at Tsvangirai’s attack on the African Union (AU) Commission Chairperson, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, who expressed optimism that Wednesday’s elections would be credible. President Mugabe said the MDC is a project of the west and as such, has no homegrown ideas. “It is the British who created the MDC, it is them who created Tsvangirai as a political figure and that is why he never criticises the British despite their continued desire to loot the country’s resources,” he added. President Mugabe also urged the urban electorate to vote for Zanu PF and put an end to the five-year-nightmare of the inclusive government, which he said was characterised by sabotage and corruption by MDC officials. He also called for the re-conditioning of Zimbabweans’ mindsets, saying it is high time the country makes use of the educational gains achieved since independence to achieve economic emancipation without depending on the whites. “We must re-write the economic books for our children. Those books were written to suit their [West] agenda of exploiting our resources. Our children must know that our resources are more significant, more precious than their capital. Our resources cannot be compared to pieces of silver, so their capital is theirs, let it not be a tool to displace me from my resources, from my land. Wake up Africa,” said Mugabe. Zimbabweans go for the harmonised elections on Wednesday to choose the president, national assembly members and councillors, and end a five-year inclusive government that assumed office in 2009.
