HEED THE WORD But he answered them, My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it. Luke 8:21 As the year ends, Couples for Christ Laguna shall be celebrating its 27th Anniversary with the theme, HEED THE WORD, based on its anchor verse according to St. Luke. It emanated from the time Jesus was doing His public ministry when He was approach by His followers telling Him that His mother together with His brothers and sisters are outside wishing to see Him. To which He answered, My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it. (Luke 8:21) We simply can infer from His response that Jesus acknowledges as His family those who hear the word and give life to it by manifesting it in their everyday life. Meaning, obeying His words and living a life accordingly. As a community, as we end the year of OBEY AND WITNESS, we ought to examine our lives on how we were able to respond to His calling. So that as Jesus entrusts us to Mary towards next years direction of BEHOLD AND PONDER, we can simply know where we stand with Him. In doing so we need to prepare ourselves for greater experience with Mary and this can be done by way of reminscing Jesus words and try to heed His calling. As such, CFC Lagunas Heed the Word is not just mere celebration of another year together as a community, but a chance for more experience of Jesus calling to us as His humble and faithful servants preparing us to greater mission ahead. The affair will give us a chance to cherish His timely provisions giving Him praise and likewise share the same to our brethrens in dire need of assistance after having gone thru a horrible disaster. This is definitely the main reason why the community need not forego the event amidst the call of the Church for help for our brothers and sisters in Visayas and Palawan. In fact, the activity can even magnify the volume of assistance that the community can give by enjoining our brethrens to come to experience Jesus and contribute their humble share for a great cause. We just simply have to give life to the words of Jesus by making the event an opportunity to give each others share. When we planned the event sometime last October 2013, there was nothing that would indicate that such a disaster would take place. The direction is to highlight Jesus words and identify families who testify for His greatness in their lives. With what happened, it simply led us to reflect further and pray unceasingly to give us directions as our hearts fell for those brothers and sisters in need which we cannot ignore. But the wisdom of our great God prevailed that led us pursue His mighty presence and make necessary actions for greater response from among our brethrens in Laguna. By December 14, 2013, CFC Laguna will go on to meet our God and magnify the cause to respond to the calling for help as the proceeds of the event shall all be extended to our brothers and sisters in need of our care. We shall then pursue the chance to meet our God in its utmost simplicity by giving our best efforts to reveal the word, hear the word, and heed the word. Let us proclaim His word with our performances reflecting how we wish to praise Him despite the ordeals and limitations before us. Let us continue to magnify His greatness by leading our families to give life to His words by bringing them in all fronts our community. Let us prove to all that our God is indeed great and that it is just a matter of time for Him to lead every family to recover from where disaster left them. WELL SEE YOU THEN TO MEET OUR GREAT GOD AND HEED HIS WORD. AS WE MEET HIM THERE, LET US SHARE WHATEVER WE CAN TO EVEN MAGNIFY HIS GREATNESS. PASS ON. THE MORE WE GO, THE MORE WE CAN CONTRIBUTE, THE MORE LIVES WE CAN HELP, THE MORE CHANCE WE CAN GIVE LIFE TO HIS WORDS. HEED THE WORD. BE COUNTED.
