HELLO COMRADES, I got this from a reliable local source..that the police contacted a well known businessman in Kakamega town who goes by nickname ‘TOTO’ for assistance in containing the students. The said businessman, who is very influential and powerful in the transport industry and who is also a political gun for hire for a lot of politicians from this region, then organized for matatu drivers, touts and some bodaboda goons to attack students in a quickly organized but sporadic and brutal manner with any crude weapon they could find; on the roads and our places of residence. This type are the said ‘owners’ of Kakamega town who are under or can buy police immunity, known to and feared by almost every native and is always at the disposal of powerful individuals for any kind of disruption and violence. TOTO is like a god in this town, ask anyone. There’s nothing we can do about it. Comrades as we walk around in this town let us know that our enemies from without are watching and hearing us.
