HELP...I am moving to Fl, and I have found some historically significant items that I haive been trying to find the right home for. I have called the Warren County Historical Society, w/o response. Does anyone know of anyone who would be interested?? One of the items is a personal journal from the mid 1800s. The author is the first clerk of the Phillipsburg National Bank. There are receipts from the Morris Canal, Wig & Journal- Easton Pa, Greeley & McElrath- publishers NY, Thomas V Johnson & Co, White-House Central RR Co of NJ, as well as others. This journal contains information regarding a widow (Tamzen Creveling- from Broadway) whose estate is being managed by the author (Robert Simanton-trustee)... I have done some research, but in the right hands more information could be extracted. The earliest date in this journal is 1849. This is just one piece that I have... would like to find a museum in Warren County who would like to display these items, and keep them for future generations... Any help out there??? Of course these would be a donation! Oh... am leaving for Fl by 9/5! So the sooner the better!
