HELP!!!! The recent flash floods have left our beautiful Methow river littered with flood debris. Everything from tires and fences to entire homes and cars. Not only did the floods bring debris they also brought an unprecedented amounts of ash and soot from recent fires. Those fine ash particles moved quickly down stream snuffing out millions of aquatic animals along the way. Initial reports from biologists said All aquatic life from Benson Creek south to Pateros is a 100% loss. And there was certainly plenty of evidence to support that theory with dead fish and aquatic invertabrets washing up from Carlton all the way to the Columbia. But those reports are changing. While removing debri today we found numerous species still clinging to life including fish but they need your help. In order to thrive these fish require pristine water quality free of plastic, rubber, metal and other unatural contaminants. Unfortunately the lower half of our awesome Methow river looks like a war zone and she needs volunteer help restoring her to the gin clear paradise that we all know and love. The Methow doesnt need your money she needs your time. Globetrouters Guide Service LLC will be partnering with Methow Fishing Adventures in a united effort to bring awareness to this issue. We will be regularly posting fish pictures without fish or with trash in place of fish as a reminder to everyone that the Methow river needs help. We suggest everyone posts pictures like these to help spread the word and motivate others to act. Every piece of trash removed helps. If you dont have a full day to give then give an hour or even a minute. This river cut out the Methow valley from rock and created locals as hard as granite along the way. Sometimes even the strongest communities need outside help. The dependece this community has on the river is huge and the magnitude of this event is shocking. So PLEASE!! Like and share this post to help spread awareness. And PLEASE come lend a hand and see what treasures the Methow River still has to offer.
