HELP!!! We eat pizza a lot. I make it home made at least once a week, and we also eat pizza out, or order it probably every other week. So, while we were out eating it a couple weeks ago, we ordered an order of bread sticks for our daughter who wanted them. I did this knowing I never liked how greasy those things look with that oil all over them. My hubby said, dont worry, Im sure its olive oil. I knew that was a long shot because olive oil is so expensive, and it looked more like butter. So we asked, and the girl said, Its fake butter oil. Um, we will not be ordering those again. This has led me to explore, and research what ingredients are actually in chain restaurant pizza. What I have found is really bad. From MSG to partially hydrogenated oils, to other very harmful chemicals. My solution…make pizza at home with frozen dough (or bread) you can trust. Unfortunately, I dont have a frozen dough I can trust anymore, because I just got out my favorite go to dough and I see BENZOYAL PEROXIDE as the 4th ingredient!!! WHA????? I am shocked that I have been feeding my family this dough!!! (I will be removing it from all of my bread dough recipes ASAP) If you know of any pizza dough, fresh or frozen, pre-made crusts, or even bread that I can use for French bread pizza, that is not loaded with unhealthy dangerous ingredients- please share below. All healthy bread tips are welcome too. We need to stop eating this crap.
