HELPING NEW ENTERPRISE: INFORMO ASSOCIATION CONTACT POINT FOR THE ERASMUS FOR YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR PROGRAMME. Informo Association is one of the only two Croatian contact points of the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs Programme (EYE). EYE is a cross-border exchange program which enables new or aspiring entrepreneurs to learn more about the sector of their interest from experienced entrepreneurs from other countries who run small businesses. Young entrepreneurs acquire new skills that allow them to open their business to new markets, as well as get the opportunity to cooperate with foreign partners. Informo Association, as contact point selected by the European Commission, supports host organizations and new entrepreneurs in Croatia. It helps them throughout the process required by the Programme - starting from the application form, to the choice of the host entrepreneur- and facilitating good relationships between host and new entrepreneur. Croatian experienced entrepreneurs through the Association Informo may become hosts and receive foreign new and aspirant entrepreneurs. An example of a very successfully case is the story of the collaboration between Laura Baldon and the Croatian entrepreneur, Matija Debeljuh. In Vodnjan, Debeljuh runs the gallery for contemporary art in the old evocative pharmacy called –Apoteka. His project room hosts different exhibition formats and a variety of artistic media, exhibitions and practices. Through the EYE exchange, Debeljuh benefited from new ideas of the young entrepreneur and thanks to his experience, Baldon had the possibility to improve her knowledge on how to manage an art gallery, culture exhibitions and how to support emerging artists through international programmes. Other two exchanges are now active in Croatia in two running business in different fields. Tomaž Erjaveć is carrying on his exchange in Ehostat d.o.o, a laboratory created by Matija Gažić for researches in the fields of socio-psychology and development of products and services associated to human perception, decision making process, and performance. Sonia Angiolin is collaborating with Davor Skrtić at Eurokonzalting, a consulting fund raising company based in Pula that deals with the design of projects for the EU and Croatian grants. The main project sectors the company deals with are tourism, agriculture and industrial manufactures. In addition, the company is responsible for the preparation of feasibility study, business plan for both start up and already established companies. Also, Eurokonzalting is in charge for the design of economic development plans for the Municipalities. Angiolin thanks to this experience had the possibility to acquired skills regarding the entire process of project design, from its conception to its submission and the management of a consulting agency while establishing and providing good contacts. In the last months, Informo has supported two aspiring Croatian entrepreneurs, Maja Tomas and Bergita Gjergjaj, in their “Erasmus for young entrepreneur” relationship. They are now finishing their experiences in another country: Tomas has collaborated with a venture in touristic and consulting sector; on the other hand, Gjergjaj has improved her management skills while working in the organization whose objective is to promote healthy lifestyle. Ana Lukić and Goran Nikolašević have settled their business plans for the EYE Programme .They are ready to leave their country for a foreign country to improve their skill and develop their own venture. The Nikolasević’s exchange seems to show an important useful side of the EYE Programme: with this exchange, Nikolasević would like to foster the innovative product development and intellectual property protection because, as member of Innovators of Osijek-Baranja Association, he would like to do business with institution and venture involved in innovation fields.
