National exhibits now on display around town are in Pittsburgh only for a limited time. View and touch them before they’re gone, as well as visit two traditional ‘Burgh favorites. TURN OF THE CENTURY The 20-foot tall, 14,400 –pound Renoir inspired sculpture required a 70-foot flatbed truck to haul it to the Steel City. The Laurel Foundation spent $22,000 to rent the Jack and the Beanstalk scale monument for your waltzing enjoyment. NO LIMITS Like gigantic toys, this series of sculptures by Cuban artist Alexandre Arrechea display iconic New York City architecture as elastic and twisted metaphors. Find the Metropolitan Life Building coiled like a fire hose, the Seagram Building undulating towards the sky like an unspooling film reel and and a tilting US Courthouse. HOMEGROWN 10 and 15-mile maps pass through Gist St, home to local artist James Simon. The entire uptown street is a collage of shimmering glass mosaics, sculptures and paintings; also, also visit famed Randyland on the Northside. PARKING Street parking is free on Sundays. There is a parking lot where we are meeting, but you will be charged if you park in this lot. Use the street. There are no restrooms at this meeting location. Water support for 10 & 15-mile maps.
