HEY GUYS - its January! Aka its thyroid disease awareness month. Im sure yall are like but what is a thyroid and Im like, its a butterfly shaped gland in your neck yo! There are multiple types of thyroid diseases and for those who suffer, its often a constant and hidden struggle. Sometimes it hurts to simply get out of bed in the morning. Every organ in the body has receptors for thyroid hormones which means this tiny gland does a whole lot of shit, You go little guy. These diseases are often not recognized and discussed enough and for those who suffer, its appreciated more than I can express when we simply just have the care of those who are willing to listen when were having a bad day, a bad week, a bad month, a bad flare up, or whatever it may be. Its hard to understand unless you experience it yourself, so for those who have tried to listen and understand, you have a heart of gold.
