HEY LOVELY PEOPLE! This is an invitation to perform a spoken word piece, poem, or rap as part of Viva Manilas Pasyal Sunday this March, 16, 2014 in Intramuros. In line with our theme this month, Speak Out!, Viva Manila is organizing an Open Poetry Slam for any poets, spoken word artists, or rappers who are interested in sharing their work and/or testing out new material. This is Not a battle or competition, no prizes will be awarded or winners announced. Rather, we seek to create a forum for poets of the written and spoken word from across Manilas different communities and disciplines to converge and share their works, poetic styles, and voices with each other and with the other street-fair-goers. The Open Poetry Slam will run from 5:30 pm until 9 pm. Please anticipate reading One piece during your slot but please feel free to have more pieces on hand should time permit for a second turn at the mic! FEEL FREE to invite any writers/poets you think might be interested in this Open Mic, we are interested in any and all forms of spoken word poetry. No theme, no cover charge.
