HH Says PF is Plotting to Block MPs from Re-contesting Seats HH supporters outside courtOpposition United Party for National Development President Hakainde says the Patriotic Front is scared of losing the by-elections that is why they are plotting to take back the case of the eight opposition candidates who were granted the right to re-contest their seats. The Patriotic Front has indicated that they will take back the case to the High Court after the Supreme Court restored the rights of the eight MPs that the PF had sought to bar from re-contesting their seats after they were nullified. Hichilema said it was strange that the PF that had shown an appetite for by-election were now backtracking after being given the opportunity to contest the elections. He wondered why they petitioned seats if they were not willing to go all the way to contest the polls. “The PF are the ones who have caused by-elections but now they are trying to delay the process further. Why are they scared? What are they running away from?” he said. “They are scared of losing by-elections and know how unpopular they have become.” The seats which are mired in controversy have remained without representation for over 13 months and delaying elections further could forestall development further. Among the figures the PF is scared of are former ministers in the MMD government Dora Siliya, Eustackio Kazonga, Maxwell Mwale and others on the list are Lucky Mulusa and Charles Kakoma. zambiareports/2014/07/10/hh-says-pf-plotting-block-mps-re-contesting-seats/
