HI ALL! As you all know I work for a cancer foundation here in Nairobi called Faraja Cancer Support Trust - we are a non profit organization and run completely on donations and volunteers. we offer a huge range of free therapies for cancer patients their carers and families including nutritionists, counselors, full body massage, reiki, reflexology, yoga, dance therapy, body talk, NLP, lymphatic drainage and much more! - all our therapists are registered and either work elsewhere or have their own clinics and volunteer their time to come in and hold individual therapy sessions or group sessions. we also have a great group of volunteers from different backgrounds who volunteer their time to come in and help with admin work, social media and other activities. We have had two events recently; Mad Hatters Tea party and a white water rafting weekend event through Savage wilderness at Sagana which had raffles/auction. We raised over Shs2m at each of these events. Raffled and Auctioned prizes included spa treatment, dinner vouchers, weekend getaways, holiday packages, hotel stays, paintings, gift hampers, gift vouchers, electronics, trophies etc. We are preparing for one of our fundraising events, the Faraja Fusion Ball on 13 September 2014. The objectives of this event are to raise awareness of what we do at Faraja, so that more people know about us which will enable us to reach more people, and to raise funds for our future projects which include starting a Faraja at Kenyatta National Hospital and a medical assistance fund, we are also hoping to extend Faraja to Mombasa. We expect to have about 300 people at the event. If any of you know anyone suffering from cancer, please pass on our information to them - we are located on level 1 of cancer care Kenya, next to MP Shah hospital, and they are more than welcome to come along even if they are getting treated elsewhere we take people from all over Africa.
