HI folks:Survey response part 2: I asked what information people would like included in the group and we have 6 areas to look at (scroll down for part one on fish): 1) DHA in Fish 2) Supplements and macro-nutrient proportions 3) Primal style exercises 4) The modern digestive system and non-paleo foods - how far have we adapted to them? 5) The effects of modern food technology on health - particularly with regards to autoimmune conditions. 6) Is coffee pro-inflammatory? So here is part 2: Supplements and Macro-Nutrient Proportions For micro-nutrient supplementation, I have to make the argument for foraging. Wild edibles contain the richest source of micros in the world, and in a form our bodies can absorb. See the attached slide comparing spinach and nettle. It speaks for itself. For a discussion on macro nutrients (Fibre, protein, fat and carbs) I really recommend this article from paleo leap. I find the idea of a cyclical approach makes a huge amount of sense, and probably imitates our ancestral conditions: paleoleap/question-of-macronutrient-ratios/
