HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: Life of Brian (Terry Jones 1979) Arguably Monty Pythons best feature film (its either this one or Holy Grail), Life of Brian is an irreverent and endlessly quotable comedy directed by Terry Jones and starring the full Monty Python troupe, each taking on various roles. Born on the same night in Jerusalem as baby Jesus but it the stable next to next door, Brian Cohen (Graham Chapman) is mistaken for the messiah from his very first day when the three wise man walk into the wrong the stable. This misunderstanding will last for the rest of Brians life as he attends the sermon on the mount and joins the Peoples Front of Judea in rebellion to Roman oppression. When he ends up in a line-up of prophets as hes trying to escape the Romans and stars to pretend to be one, he unwittingly becomes a revered leader and soon his every action is seen as a miracle. Banned in several countries upon its initial release and clearly not a film for everyone, Brian is a truly hilarious sacrilegious spoof of the story of Jesus. Many religious groups were far from impressed but for lovers of Python and the absurd, this was an instant cult classic. Featuring many characters and scenes which have become Python classics, Life of Brian is Monty Python at its ridiculous best. The film was a massive hit and is often ranked as one of the greatest comedies of all time. https://youtube/watch?v=TKPmGjVFbrY
