Initially having refused Bimal Roy on the offering saying that he didnt want to become a lyricist, Gulzar relented only after films music director S.D. Burman convinced him. And he wrote the song, Mora Gora Ang Lai Le in five days. It made him memorable. And the journey continues even after he has been conferred the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2013. And then it had deadly combination of maestro S.D.Burman and Lata Mangeshkar. All other lyrics are by Shailendra. Aur kya mangata hai, dear. Bandini( Imprisoned) is a 1963 Hindi drama film directed and produced by Bimal Roy. Nutan gave one of the finest performances of her career, along with Ashok Kumar and Dharmendra as leads.The movie tells the story of a woman prisoner serving life imprisonment for murder. The film is based on a Bengali novel Tamasi by Jarasandha (Charu Chandra Chakrabarti), a former jail superintendent. The film won National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi in 1963 and six Filmfare awards in 1964. And here is the sweet lyric.
