HINDSIGHT Geelani, Malik, Shabir: Three points of an ominous triangle In the wake of unfortunate killings in Sumbal area of Kashmir what the three separatists have done or plan to do is now a routine script. In the event of any unfortunate incident in which tragic killings take place the troika of anti –India sentiment in the valley comprising of Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Shabir Shah and the killer turned ‘Gandhian’ Yasin Malik are ever ready to pounce on the opportunity to bake their separatist Rotis. Instead of going to the reality of the incident and helping the situation gain normalcy, the troika in order to get essential oxygen to their dubious cause leaves no effort to see that the passions and emotions of people are motivated and guided towards their nefarious ends. The Sumbal killings are a tragedy and should have not occurred in the first instant. With army officials already saying that they were not involved in the killing of the first youth in Markundal and an investigation already ordered in the killing of second youth these ‘experienced’ separatist leaders should have shown some sanity. But they will not, because in order to play to their bosses across the border they will instigate and inflame the situation beyond a point of no return. Otherwise Geelani’s call for march towards Markundal on Wednesday is nothing but to elicit cheap publicity for their reprehensible cause. This is the game plan of an octogenarian separatist who wants to aggravate situation further. The proposed march to the villages where the killings have taken place is to make the effort of the State more fragile which is trying to make all out effort to help normalcy return. In this regard the statement of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah should not be taken lightly as the three separatists are trying to. Nobody will deny the role of army to make the general population of Kashmir safe from the devilish designs of terrorists whom the ilk of Geelani, Shabir and Malik eulogise every day as fighters for freedom. This is the tragedy with Kashmir that those who are actually responsible for killing of thousands of innocent Kashmiris are today behaving as if they were the greatest friends of the people. Geelani’s proposed march is a sinister ploy which if God forbid gets out of control will have serious repercussions for peace in the valley. This is precisely what the old hawk wants in Kashmir. He wants that security forces should resort to firing in the event of the mob turning violent and then he will take charge with his satanic statements saying to all that India and its armed forces indulge in killing of innocent Kashmiris. This is what happened in Sumbal. The irate mob tried to set up the army ambulance on fire along with its occupants, naturally the army was under severe pressure to save its men. No army can allow its men to be burnt alive by a furious mob. Geelani should ask himself a question, but he will not because he is not made of the material which real leaders are. He will get Indian pension, enjoy Indian security and get best of medical treatment at the cost of Indian tax payer’s money, yet he will instigate young men against India. This is the philosophy of Geelani who calls himself a moral and man of peace. With such duplicity in heart how can he make a meaningful contribution to Kashmir? Should he not ask himself how many people were killed in Kashmir because of his direct or indirect instigation? Unfortunately, these killings have vitiated the atmosphere. And in no circumstances should this incident have occurred. No nation will pride itself on its innocents losing their lives. But more importantly, no proud nation should allow these separatists to high jack peace. They should be shown their true place and exposed before the nation.
