HISTORY OF KOMFO ANOKYE SHS NAME: KOMFO ANOKYE ESTABLISHED: 1964 GENDER: MIXED COLOUR: YELLOW AND GREEN MOTTO: KNOWLEDGE HONOUR SERVICE NICKNAME: BRAVE WARRIORS Okomfo Anokye Secondary School known as OASS, a co- educational boarding school. It was initially named SUBRI Secondary School after the wiamoase Royal stool. It was moved into its permanent site along the Wiamoase - Amenase road. Komfo Anokye Secondary school was named after the brave warrior man called Komfo Anokye who fought a good fight for the Asante in many years back and his named will forever be remembered in the Ashanti Kingdom and Ghana as a whole. The students population stands at 2,194 made up of 1,735 boarders and 459 day students. The gender distribution shows that the school has 1,284 boys and 910 girls.
