HIT BY A CAR AND LEFT TO DIE... MEET THE BOY WHO SURVIVED AGAINST TERRIBLE ODDS… Life as a street dog here in Thailand can be very tough. You have no owner to care for you, nobody to feed you and provide you with shelter. My name is Ting and I am only 9 months old. I have spent my short life desperately trying to survive from day to day and protect myself from danger. I will never forget being hit by a car recently and left to die by the side of the road. I lay there in agony and terror. I had several fractures near my hip and the upper part of one of my legs. I was unable to stand or walk. All I could do was lie there and wait to die. Instead, I was picked up by Soi Dog. I was taken to the shelter and immediately treated. Several weeks of treatment and care helped most of my injuries heal but I still couldn’t use my bad leg. I desperately wanted to be able to move around again but it was impossible. I have had that bad leg removed now and just like so many other three-legged dogs, I am walking and running and loving being mobile again. I particularly love my walks with the volunteers, especially our strolls around the lake. My life was transformed by some Soi Dog supporters called the Emergency Response Team. This team sends monthly donations so that suffering dogs and cats can be picked up and rescued. They have saved my life. There are many other animals out there that need help.
