HOAX MUSLIM BOMB CALLER TO BUCKINGHAM PALACE SPARED JAIL A Muslim from Bradford who rang Buckingham Palace with a bomb hoax last month has this week been let-off with a community order by Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court. 36-year-old Khalid Farooq pleaded guilty to the charge of communicating false information in relation to a bomb hoax after he found the Palace phone number on the internet. The incident occurred at 2.15pm on Saturday, January 26, when Farooq spoke to Margaret Power, a telephonist on the switchboard at Buckingham Palace, telling her that a bomb was in the building. Farooq, described to the court as a known “pest” caller to police, was arrested after being traced through his phone number. Prosecutor Paul Ramsey said when Mrs Power asked where he had planted it, Farooq did not answer but seemed to snigger.
