HOD 2014 …. Another great event in the history books! This was the tenth anniversary of Heli’s over Delaware. Event highlights: •85 registered pilots and many more spectators than we had last year! • Great raffle prizes with a huge number of gift certificates. Align donated a T-Rex 700E DFC Pro kit •Mark Ryder from RunRyder attended the event to take pictures and videos • 40+ people were introduced to the hobby using buddy-box systems • 30+ people signed up for the Autorotation workshop and contest • Several sponsors pilots including world champion Jamie Robertson flying demos • Great crowd participation in the Saturday noon demonstrations and smackdown • Night flying with construction lights was better than ever Event Sponsors: Align (Main prize), Thunder Power, Byron Fuels, ProgressiveRC, HobbyCo, Scorpion Motors, Ron’s RC Helicopters, BOCA Bearing, Castle Creations, Eagle Tree, Synergy Helicotpers, Random Heli, Mikado USA and Excel Hydraulics As always, it is truly a pleasure to work on this event. It takes an extraordinary effort to pull off all of this work and have an event that is safe and fun. This year seemed to be extra special. Safety was on all of our minds and we are lucky and happy to report that we didn’t have one incident or situation where an aircraft flew or crashed behind the flight line. HOD is always about the pilots and the spectators. Several of those pilots dedicate their time to this event to make it great. We would like to recognize several key contributors.
