HOKETT INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES A life dedicated to speading the gospel. Doris Hokett lives in Lagos, Nigeria. Doris and her late husband, Arthur, have faithfully served as missionaries since 1966, first in Ghana and now in Nigeria. They travelled most of the time preaching and teaching in crusades, revivals, seminars, conventions, etc. They have ministered in many countries including Mexico, Haiti, El Salvador, Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Niger, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, India, Sri Lanka, and many others. As a young teenager, Arthur felt called by God to be a missionary in Africa. He married Doris Hinkle in Houston on September 20, 1957. In 1961, they both graduated with Bachelor of Arts degrees from South-Western Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas. In 1992, they both received honorary Doctorate of Theology degrees from Levites Theological Seminary in Lagos, Nigeria. After pastoring a church in Yoakum, Texas, for four and half years, Arthur and Doris were appointed as missionaries to Ghana, West Africa, in 1966. For the following 45 years, they served together in Africa, first living in Ghana and then in Lagos, Nigeria. They have ministered under trees in tiny villages, in churches of all sizes in towns and cities, and in stadiums and mega-churches across Africa. Arthur and Doris Hokett have helped to build 52 churches as at June 2013 in northern Ghana. Rev. Arthur E. Hokett, Jr., 73, entered into heaven on Saturday, August 6, in Pasadena, Texas. Mrs Hokett, despite her age and the absence of her life partner for over 53 years, continues the work of God. Mrs Hokett travels thousands of miles tirelessly on mission work. "I came on an all-night bus from Uganda two days ago and I’m here in Kenya till Monday, when I’ll go on a bus all day to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. After two weeks there, I’ll be back in Kenya overnight, and then I’ll fly to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on April 23rd, for a week of ministry there. Next, I’m back in Nigeria for three weeks, May 1st to 21st." Her passion for saving souls and seeing the power of Jesus manifested in lives keeps Mrs Hokett going year after year, to the glory of God.
