HOLLYWOOD need not forget that yes, they too once wore milk mustaches! Last night I helped out with a W Magazine event. For those of you who dont know W Magazine, it is a womans magazine that gets into the Who, What, Where, When, and Why in the world of fashion and style. We had guest arrive like Eva Longoria, Christine Ritter and Rhonda Ross (Diana Rosss daughter). I was impressed that Eva drove herself. I was also intrigued by their shoes and dresses...beautiful! But what amazed me the most is how we people, the public make such a fuss about these folks. To me it all seems so fabricated! I mean these actors memorize lines to movies. I am not demeaning their talents to act, but the bottom line is they memorize lines. Why do we not celebrate our plumber who fixes our pipes or our electrician who keeps the lights and power on? I am aware I am asking questions I know the answer too. But it is funny how our society works. Some of these celebrities were very down to earth, some were so taken by themselves. I guess the fascination because we feel like we know them, but they dont know us, but we want them to know us? Who will ever really know what makes this world go around? I mean who would have ever known a big purple Barney would be a hit or a slogan Life Is Good would be a hit? And when we launched MacKenzie-Childs, it wasnt very successful until we raised the prices by 3x, that it became a hit! I guess because of all of my experiences in life is why I started a branding company and named it milk mustache BRANDING. What a silly name, but I like it because it brings an image of when we would come in from playing all morning to a pb&j on a plate and a cold sweating glass of milk that our loving Moms made us. And as we drank and caught our breath and laughed and looked across the table at our goober friends, we were all wearing milk mustaches. That is life growing up in America! We mustnt forget that all of these celebrities grew up with milk mustaches too! Its good that we all grow up and make progress and create and invent and act and make movies and improve energy and technology, but I think it is important that we dont forget the spirit of that milk mustache...the inner child of us all that makes us laugh and love; that inner soulfulness that doesnt take ourselves too seriously. We are all on this planet earth for a certain amount of time, so lets have fun making progress! Lets really learn to love and appreciate differences and embrace change...not fear it! Lets learn to drop the past and love the present and look forward to the future sunrises and sunsets! Live this life, like art!
