HOME FROM CINCINNATI CHILDRENS HOSPITAL. We both reallllly liked Dr. Mukadda and also liked what he had to tell us. I was so certain the food allergies we found out about yesterday were the cause of his pain etc. and Jonathan would have a terrible time with knowing what foods to eat and not eat. Dr. M is not very concerned about the food allergies. He suggests Jonathan stay on the PPI meds (minus Carafate), do a cleanse of sena and Miralax and return in a month for another endoscopy --if he feels like he is better. If he isnt better, start steroids (FloVent) and return in 8 weeks for another endoscopy. Jonathan is very constipated (what every teenager wants their mom to post on FB!) The PPI stuff is starting to work just a tad and the doc said that now is the time (one month) for J to start seeing a difference....so hopefully thats working. All the docs (ER, ped etc) I took him to because I wasnt satisfied :) all told us we need to wait for the meds to work....and thatd it would take 2 to 4 months. We are a month in and have seen a tad of improvement. So...thats the plan for now. Its so nice having a plan....and great docs like Matthew Wilson and Dr. Vincent Mukkada (and his nurse Jo).
