HONE STUDENTS PROTEST FILTHY CONDITIONS, LUKASHYA TRADES CLOSES DUE TO LACK OF WATER, BUT SATA IS MISSING Evelyn Hone College Students are protesting at the poor state of sanitation at the institution forcing management to suspend classes. And Lukashya Trades Training Institute in Northern province has been closed indefinitely to due lack of water at the institution. Evelyn Hone College students are also protesting at the decision to exclude a number of some students from this Fridays Graduation Ceremony for various reasons. There was a reported high rate of failure with some courses registering an unprecedented zero pass rate. The irate students have dumped bins in the College Library and closed all the gates into and out of the college. The protesting students have also taken advantage and are now demanding for a new bus at the institution. Hundreds of students were seen panicking exiting the College Campus for safety as management ordered for the immediate locking of classrooms. Police have so far not arrived to control the situation despite Lusaka Central Police being neighbors with the Evelyn Hone College. In Northern province, College Management at Lukashya Trades Training Institute have closed the institution indefinitely due to lack of water. Management is afraid of the outbreak of water-borne diseases, as the institution has also been critically hit by the lack of water, which has persisted in Kasama and other places in the province. The students were due to start their mid-term examinations but this now means they will have to miss-out. All these are happening when the country is on autopilot as the Zambian president Michael Sata, who is supposed to preside over all these serious national issues, has gone missing from the population for more than three weeks now.
