HONOR AND APPRECIATE YOUR PARENTS (Ephesians 6:2 -3BBE) Give honour to your father and mother which is the first rule having a reward, So that all may be well for you, and your life may be long on the earth. Comments Your parents were Divinely appointed to bring you into this world! If not for any other reason, honor them for this! We are commanded by God to give respect to our parents. The enemy looks for occasions and opportunities to destroy the good relationship between children and their parents. He makes parents to provoke their children to wrath in order for the children to withhold honor from their parents. He makes children to be unruly in order to provoke curses from the hearts and mouths of their parents. If your parents are still alive or if you have anyone you are looking up to as a parent, you need to make a decision today to begin to respect them. The position of parenthood is what God asked you to respect. Anyone that occupies this position irrespective of their character, personality or faithfulness is to be respected. Also, if you are a parent, you are encouraged to love your children and not provoke them to wrath. When you don’t seek to understand the issues they are facing and all you do is to lay upon them rules and burdens they know you personally will not obey or carry, you will provoke them to wrath. Do you want to live long? Do you want all to go well with you? Then begin to obey this timeless, Divine and godly principle. The God we serve will grant you long life and make you to experience success in all your endeavors in life in Jesus name. Prayers 1. Thank God for your parents & those you look up to as parents. 2. Ask God to put the spirit of honor in your heart for your parents & those you are looking up to as parents 3. Ask God to forgive you in areas where you have shown disrespect for your parents & grant you mercy to overcome the effects of that sin. Faith confessions I honor my parents and those who I am looking up to as parents. My heart is filled with the spirit of respect for those who are above me in life and all human beings especially my parents in Jesus name. I live long on the earth & it is well with me because I am honoring my parents in Jesus name. Read through the Bible in a year by following this guide John 10-12
