Hes been allowed a lot of downtime and has been started back undersaddle slowly. Hes currently going w/t/c and attempting some crossrails. Ben is a thoroughbred lovers dream. He would be a great project for a first-time OTTB owner because hes very respectful and responsive, or he could make a very easy project for someone with experience training OTTBs. Ben currently rides in a snaffle with no flash or figure-8. His current rider is an eventer who is putting a basic dressage foundation on him. Ben is a fairly easy keeper. He is on Safe Choice pellets and an electrolyte. Ben stays outside 24/7 with another horse, but stays in a stall nicely. Has been with as many as three other geldings and has shared a field with a mare. Ben is middle of the herd, but is currently dominant to his pasture-mate. Not a bully! Ben is shod on the front only. Keeps shoes on very well! Ben loads, clips, ties, and stands for vet and farrier. Needs a farrier who he trusts as he is just getting used to hot shoeing. No vices and 100% solid ground manners. Could be led by a child to and from the field. Ben would flourish best with an experienced rider or an intermediate rider with a trainer due to his age and how recently he was taken off the track. While he shows the most potential for eventing, he doesnt have a crazy bone in his body and with time could do equitation as well as local hunters. Uphill build AND a great personality. Barn FAVORITE! Asking $3,000 (down from $3,500). Perfect home is most important! May consider a partial trade for a mare to be used in a warmblood breeding program.
