Post Start Date: ASAP Welder SUMMARY: A welder (also weldor, which term distinguishes the tradesman from the equipment used to make welds) is a tradesman who specializes in welding materials together. The materials to be joined can be metals (such as steel, aluminum, brass, stainless steel etc.) or varieties of plastic or polymer. Welders typically have to have good dexterity and attention to detail, as well as some technical knowledge about the materials being joined and best practices in the field. The Welder works mainly at the construction site but some offsite mobile work may be required from time to time Job Duties and Tasks for: "Welder" Selecting tools, equipment and supplies needed for the welding job. Completing welding as required following the drawings and instructions provided by the Workshop and Stores Manager. Using safety equipment for welding in various places as required. Working as part of the welding crew or team to complete the project within the timeline indicated by the Workshop and stores manager. Assists other trades personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities. General workshop duties. Other duties that may be required from time to time by the Company Actively suggest and encourage quality improvement To work in accordance with the Quality Policy To work in accordance with the Health and Safety Policy Requirements: manual dexterity mechanical aptitude and interest keenness to use tools and equipment to perform tasks requiring precision ability to follow routine procedures for scheduled maintenance strength and stamina to work with heavy tools and materials.
