HOW DO YOU UNDERSTAND SCRIPTURE? _____ Philip ran over and heard the man reading from the prophet Isaiah; so he asked, DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE READING? And he begged Philip to come up into the carriage and sit with him. ~ ~ ~Acts 8:30-31 The question today is no longer, Do you understand it, but, How do you understand it? In the world of IT production and development, OPEN SOURCE as a development model, promotes a universal access via a free license to a products design or blueprint, and universal redistribution of that design or blueprint, including subsequent improvements to it by anyone. Social Media has become OPEN SOURCE on Spirituality. There are now so many ways and so many interpretations of God and Spirituality. Its an Open Supermarket. Pick & Choose which understanding suit your spiritual taste! May I suggest to you that Internet and other Social Media has made God, Jesus, Bible and Spirituality - OPEN SOURCE. This is very threatening to tradition because people are now exposed to so many ways of talking, thinking and interpreting LIFE. The Bible is a very QUIET book until someone opens it and formulates a systematic theology or doctrine out of it. Today, we can Google any doctrine and discover who the inventor was. We NOW know that there are no eternal revelations that fell from heaven. These doctrines were formulated by human beings (men) and we can Google WHO invented them, HOW and WHY they originated. We can now leave our Churches and browse our PCs & gadgets for other ways of interpreting the same Bible that is used in our Churches. We can no longer assume that all smart, good people interpret the Bible the way our Pastor, fellowship or denomination does. Pastors know this & find Social Media very threatening to their hegemony. In the past, Christians might have had to go to another denominations church or part of the world to hear a different take on Scripture, today (NOW) the internet allows us to immediately access a myriad of different interpretations of the same Bible. THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST The word second coming of Christ is a 19th century evangelical invention that came with John Nelson Darby (1800-1882). Traditionally, what evangelicals named the second coming (which is a misnomer), is understood as the coming (revealing, appearing, manifestation) of Christ (Spirit). The same Holy Spirit that is perpetually evolving, progressively unfolding; and the realisation of Divine Presence and Identity that is and has always been with human beings. The Second Coming of Christ is not the second coming of Jesus the man. It is the birth of the Son of God inside each and every human being who dares to WAKE UP! --- CHRIST simply means the anointed. It is the AWAKENING of the Divine within each and every human being. It is the birth of A DIVINE HUMAN! Today, even Atheists are writing best-sellers on Waking Up and Spirituality. We are truly living in a Postmodern Age! DOGMAS ARE BEING PHASED OUT!!! In my book entitled, THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST, I say: It has still not occurred to many Christians that when Jesus promised the second coming He was not talking about his mythological return fro heaven (thought to be above the skies), but rather, of The Second Coming of God who is present in us, AS US - who comes again into our world through us. We today know that our universe is infinite and ever expanding! We need to deconstruct the language our Ancestors used to explain the same EXPERIENCE we are having. CAN WE DARE TO EMBRACE THE TRUTH THAT WE OURSELVES ARE THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST?
