HOW THE PRESS HAS FOULED HEALTH CARE REFORM WATERS ——————————————————————————————— This is the press running away from its own dirty work. It is the press that mislabeled the Affordable Health Care Act Obamacare, pretending that it was a Democratic initiative when the press and the politicians have known damned well and all along that the ACA is the handiwork of the right-wing Heritage Foundation and insurance industry lawyers and lobbyists. The ACA, in spite of the fact that it is an improvement, is a welfare scheme for the insurance industry, and the press has driven the entire controversy by failing again and again to mention the ACA’s tawdry history, choosing instead to concentrate on phony Republican attacks on an essentially Republican idea. In other words, the press has misled us from the get-go and is now pretending to be an innocent observer when in fact it has been an instigator and an obfuscator. As is so often the case, the press is an active player preending to be an impartial observer.
