HOW TO FRUSTRATE THE KIDNAPPERS “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”. (Psalms 91:1) On Wednesday August 10, 2011 according to a National newspaper in an African Country, many people including bank staff and traders as well as some elders, gathered to protest the kidnappings going on in a popular small business community in that country. The protesters also included professional bodies such as the Lawyers’ Bar Association, Medical Association, Bankers and businessmen and women. A prominent speaker at the rally said that about 15 people were being kidnapped daily in that community. HE described the reality of the menace of human kidnappers in that country as a real threat to humanity. If things have gone to the level where in a single city 15 people are kidnapped daily then there is need for concern. What can we do? The Psalmist offers us a reliable solution to the problem of kidnappers. Watch where you dwell (live) and be careful of where you abide (play and work). Where do you live? It is assumed that you live with your parents and since you cannot force your parents to relocate, you are bound to stay with them. But it is important for you to be aware of the potential dangers in your neighborhood so that you can adequately protect yourself as may be necessary. Don’t keep late nights, and as much as possible don’t’ show off to make people become jealous of how you spend money. Then who are your friends? At times they determine where you abide! You spend a lot of time with your friends. You need to ensure that your friends are good people who will not go behind you to cooperate with the kidnappers. Move with responsible boys and girls. Above all, put your confidence in God and pray every day. As you trust Him and put your confidence in Him, He will not let you down.
